DIOXIN TOXICITYDioxin toxicity in eggs. Most of the eggs coming from poultry farms contains a chemical, persistent organic populatant(P.O.P) called Dioxin. Dioxin contains about 210 chemical composition. In an international convention in Stockholm few years ago, they decided for eliminating the use of Dioxin in the food and other substance. These chemical when are long-standing in human body becomes very toxic and even cause genetic change in the next generation of human kind.
They can potentially cause skin problems, neurological problems, deformities to human organs and structures, decrease the child's immune system, mental retardation and many more.
Dioxin is also banned by international agency for research on cancer(IARC).
Compared to other contries, Indian poultry eggs contains 5 times the Dioxin compared to eggs in other countries. This has been found out by the research scienctist of the eggs of the India and other countries.
In setting up of the poultry farms, there are no rules or regulation formed by the India government but there are definite rules and regulations for caring of poultries, which are not bought into action by the corrupt officers of India. Due to the the unhygienic condition in the poultry they also cause avan chlorea, tuberculosis etc. There are no rules and regulation regarding the sales of the eggs in India.
India has signed in the Biohazardous chemical production but it has not come into action in India. When biohazardous substancs, plastics,PVCs and other non-disintregating substances are burned they produces Dioxins.
Other food material where Dioxins are found are meat, milk, butter and egg. Dioxin is not present in vegetables and friuts because through fats only dioxin gets stored. In human body 90% of the dioxin get deposited through non-vegetarian foods.
Dioxin travels in atmosphere and settles down in earth through rain, snows and dust. These are consumed by poultries through when they accidentially take food material from earth.
In 1998 WHO convention in Geneva decided that the human body will be non-toxin if the BMI index is one kilogram of the human body can tolerate only 6 picogram of dioxin per day but in one egg it contains about 10.9 units of dioxin in one gram of egg, it means that a person who is eating one egg will have 20% of the dioxin more than the allowed amount of the dioxin level in the body and it will retain about 7 years in the human body
The only way to get a rid off this is to implement Stockholm treaty in India. In India, make poultry rules and regulations strict.
